HILLARY CUMBERWORTH ART
Hi, Y'all! I’m Hillary Cumberworth, a native Austinite that left home for a bit to live here, there and visited everywhere in between. I received my BA in Studio Art with a focus in Sculpture and a Minor in Art History from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, where I studied under Mary Hale Visser. I also had the privilege of interning for three wonderful Female artists in New York City; Nene Humphrey, Elise Siegel and Nancy Bowen. While living in Houston, I dipped my toe into many facets of the art world from teaching art at an inner-city Middle School to taking on the role as the foundry assistant under David Medina at the Glassell School of Art with the Houston MFA. The brakes were put on my art career when my husband and I moved to Dubai and proceeding to have three kids over the next four years. However, I wouldn’t change that experience for anything because my time abroad has profoundly changed me as a person and my prospective on the world. I returned home to Austin with a husband, three kids and a wealth of experiences that I will never forget. Now the time is right for me to take off running with my art. So, join me as my artistic journey continues!
